Regional Youth Update on Covid-19

As the number of cases of Covid-19 increases in the UK and Ireland and given the fluid and changing situation with Covid-19, the Regional Youth Team have decided to postpone our Cadet and Badger activities for a minimum period of four weeks from 23 March 2020.

This will include unit based meeting nights and off site activities involving young people. This decision will be reviewed on Friday 24 April 2020, if not before.

While this is disappointing, our youth programme brings together a large number of young people from across Northern Ireland and as a result based on our clinical assessment, we felt this was in the best interest of our young people. Our youth teams are currently working on ways to engage our young people remotely so they can still play a socially active role.

The youth team will continue to monitor the situation with the PHA and education authority very closely. We're sorry for the disruption but know you will appreciate these stringent measures are necessary to ensure the safety of our young people and youth team volunteers.
